|Mexican Food in Colorado, Fajitas would be a safe |
Item Reviewed: Beef Fajitas
Price Paid: $15-20
After a debate on trying mexican food once again in Colorado, with some successes and some failures, I decided to give this place a try. Its near the Hot Springs Resort and I see it every time Im there. It has a patio with a great view of the Hot Springs and the San Juan river.
We entered the restaurant to spanish music, and a bright fiesta like decore. We sat down and perused the menu, and decided that beef fajitas would be a safe bet as far as not being totally disapointed.
We discovered that when your in Colorado, places don't offer complimentary tortillas like they do in Texas, tortillas here are a side order (3 for $1) and they are premade. Although the waiter did bring us chips and salsa before the meal.
The fajita plate came with rice, beans, 3 tortillas, and a cup of guacamole. All the food had good flavor, and was not bland at all compared to other mexican restaurants I've tried. Hoever the beef fajitas did have a seasoning on them that tasted like adobo and had a red coloring.
Service was decent, we were waited on right away, there was no line the evening we ate there. The waiter came by the table often refilling out drinks, and the food came out promptly, was sizzling and hot.
For mexican food outside South Texas, they are on the right track, I spoke with locals who said they liked the food at Tequilas, and another online reviewer as well as the local both recommended the Burrito of the Sea, as a good item to order. Maybe next time I will try that item.
I would recommend this restaurant if your in the mood for mexican food. It wasnt dissapointing, the food was decent, the prices were a bit high, but service was good.
Pros: Flavorfull Food, Fast Service, Good Location
Cons: A little pricey
